Day 10 - Sunday 2/28/2010

 Today was a better day, nutrition-wise.  Hit 1636 calories for the day.  Ratios were: Carbs-43%/Protein-37%/Fat-20%.  Not too bad!

Today was a rest day, no workouts planned. 

Tomorrow I'm planning on a full body circuit with about 10-15 extra min of cardio/abs.  I'm also wondering why I'm not as sore as I think I should be after that 2 hour spinning class yesterday...hmm...maybe it'll hit me tomorrow!

Day 9 - Saturday 2/27/2010

Today was another day that started out great... I went to the gym for my weekly Spinning class.  Well, it turns out that it was a 2 hour benefit ride for "Wounded Warriors".  Great cause, and it was awesome to be able to hang for the whole 2 hours.  What a feeling!!

Did really good on the nutrition for the day, but had a jewelry party/surprise birthday party with some friends.  Thinking I could handle the extra calories because of my 2 hour workout, I splurged on some ice cream and cake.  I could estimate the calories, but think I will just leave it unfinished. 

So, no more splurging for me.  2 days in a row is likely to really compromise my results this week. 

Day 8 - Friday 2/26/2010

Today started out great!!  Scale showed down 3 lbs! WOOT!!  Got a good full body workout in today also. 

Went out to eat after belt promotions, and THOUGHT I was making good choices----NOT! 
Turns out I blew my calories away by eating an extra 300 cals... ratios were thrown way off too....
Carbs-38%/Protein-28%/Fat-35% OUCH!  I could try and explain it away, but it was really the avocado, bacon and egg on my cobb salad.

So, lesson learned!!  But I will definitely take my small victories as they come!

Day 7 - Thursday 2/25/2010

Today was my rest day for the week.  Worked till noon, then headed back down to the Springs for a 1 hour massage!  HOORAY!  Thanks go out to my mom for that!

Nutrition was good for the day, total calories for the day was 1513.  Ratios were mostly AWESOME! Finally got my protein up above my carbs!  Here's how they fell : Carbs-37%/Protein-41%/Fat-22%.  Fat was a tad higher than I'd like, but was really happy to see the protein bumped up.

Day 6 - Wednesday 2/24/2010

Today was another productive day!  Did a weight circuit at the gym, along with some abs.
Calories were right on goal with 1625.  Ratios today were: 51% carbs, 32% protein and 17% fat.  I like that my fat intake is lower, but still need to get some more low fat protein sources in my diet daily.  I would like to see the protein percentage at a 35%-42% level.

Also went to kempo later, and had some great training there.  Did some club defenses as well as self-defenses involving 2 leg takedowns! Fun stuff.

Day 5 - Tuesday 2/23/2010

Today was another consistent day. Workout was good, and nutrition was right on. Hit goal of 1650 cals.
Nutrition ratios were: Carbs-45/Protein-35/Fat 20. Probably need to work to get that protein up a little higher, but the fat stayed low, which is definitely one of my priorities.

Worked out on the elliptical today again, for 30 mins. HR between 145 and 155 for the duration. Also did some abs today, 72 reg crunches and 24 obliques (each side).

Day 4 - Monday 2/23/2010


Today was pretty good. Got a good, heavy cardio workout today. Kept my HR above 150 for the majority of the 30 min. My goal was to keep it above 145, so I did well there. I bumped up the resistance too. I have been using the Precor 100i--which to me looks like a Transformer.. LOL! It's different in that you can change your speed/stride/direction without having to push any buttons... very cool, huh?
Anyway, nutrition was very good until I got home, and hubby cooked up his famous crockpot spaghetti sauce. I had about 1c of cooked spaghetti and splurged on the sauce. Also had 2 slices of bread w/some garlic powder.. yum!
I'll be better on the nutrition today, and plan a little extra cardio to work of the spaghetti. :)

Day 3 - Sunday 2/21

Had another good day today. Today was a rest day, no exercise, but good nutrition. Ended up with 1711 cals, a touch over goal, but probably evens out with yesterday's shortage.

Today's calorie ratio fell like this:
48% carbs
33% protein
19% fat

Good to see lower fat, but a little too high on the carbs. Need to revamp tomorrow with some more protein.

Day 2

Saturday 2/20
Had a good day today! Went to the gym in the morning, and did a 1 hour Spinning class. What a blast!! I had forgotten how much fun Spinning really is.
During the day, I worked on completing a Fast Track Daily challenge of 300 squats. I got to 100 before I ran out of time, but still not bad!
Later in the day, I had a Kempo-MMA seminar. Talk about calorie burn! Wow!


Nutrition for the day was good. I ate a total of 1495 calories...which was a little lower than my goal (goal is 1600-1650 per day). Ratios were good too, 40% protein, 40%carbs and 20% fat.

So overall, it was a good day! See you tomorrow!

Day 1

Hey all! Thanks for checking out my blog. I will be documenting my 12 week fitness challenge here. Today is Day 1 - February 19, 2010. My goals are to lose fat and become more lean.
